Wow. Stunning. Historic. Fabulous

Grateful that Simon and Kim were finishing up when we arrived because we would have had trouble turning off the A/C. Steam shower was awesome; finally figured out which handle did what on our last day - Please fix the hand held hanging by a string. Grill and fire pit worked well. Sleeps 4 adults comfortably. 2 more in the caretaker's room and 1 in the queen fold-out in the basement. Couldn't figure out the sound system. There is NO cell service.

Birthday of a Lifetime

Impeccable surroundings. Expansive spaces for guests. Every little necessity at hand. Come for the views, and beach walks, and history. Leave your need for wifi and streaming at home (signal here is spotty at best.) Treat this national treasure with respect and relish the once in a lifetime experience.

Enjoy the Indiana Dunes in a peaceful setting

Very peaceful private setting. The beach is far enough away from crowds. Enjoyed beautiful sunsets. The house has wonderful amenities such as a gas grill and fire pit and a theater room. I highly recommend!!!

Great Place

We rented the Cypress Log Cabin for a week. The Cabin was super clean with everything we needed - from linens to beach towels, to a fully equipped kitchen. We had a party of ten people and the house was large enough for privacy when desired, but had lots of common gathering spots. Couldn't have asked for a better spot for our family reunion.

Beauty, History, and Tons of Fun

Brought our extended family here during the summer - something for all! Beach lovers, history buffs, gamers, and those looking for a cozy reading nook. Kitchen and grill well equipped, with large dining table. Had a great time!

Our July 2025 stay at The Cypress Log Cabin

Our experience at The Cypress Log Cabin was exceptional. The cabin is very well appointed, clean and maintained. We enjoyed learning about the cabin from the local people we spoke with over the few days we were there. Their pride of the cabin and its history shows. We would recommend this cabin. Kym who I dealt with through the management company has been very helpful and professional from start to finish.

Beautiful and Relaxing

We had a wonderful vacation at the Cypress Log Home. The location was wonderful and the property management team was outstanding. Hope to return in the future.

Beautiful Lake Views

Our group had a fabulous stay at this beautifully renovated and well decorated historical cabin retreat!
Whether we were sitting inside the warm and cozy sun room area sipping our morning coffee or sitting outside by the fire pit area with our wine, the views of the lake were magnificent! The grounds surrounding this very spacious cabin home are well kept and provide fun experiences from horseshoe games to just sitting peacefully in the tree chair swing enjoying the views. The Weber bbq grill was clean and big enough to allow us to cook an entire dinner for our group. We were just steps away from the beautiful beach and lakefront. Inside, there is a lower level that we enjoyed in the evenings. For starters, the movie theatre was amazing! We sat in comfortable movie theatre seats while watching our favorite movies. We also had fun playing the spectacular arcade games provided. Fun was had by all! There was even a huge wine cellar with a wine bottle ready for us to open! This historical cabin is very clean and roomy. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of space to work in and was well stocked with the essentials. When we had a few questions, the staff was just a phone call away and were very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this unique and very special experience to anyone who wants a close by get away from the Chicago area and craves some quality family time and natural beauty.

Gorgeous historic cabin with charming features throughout. It is my dream cabin which made it fun to spend time with family and a few friends. Loved steam shower and jacuzzi tubs, access to beach, fire pit and saddle barstools. Could not figure out movie room projector but was able to use tv outside of movie room. Thank you for a great memory!❤️
