Picture perfect place

This house in this location just seems too good to be true. The house is spacious and has some lovely updates, while also keeping a lot of historic charm. The view of Lake Michigan is phenomenal. Chicago is even visible on a clear day. Very easy to walk down to the beach or get to hiking trails through the woods.

Great views and Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommend in Summer

We had a fantastic stay and truly enjoyed the property. It was comfortable, well-maintained, and made our trip even more memorable — we would definitely stay here again!

Great Stay on Lake Michigan

What a fabulous place!! We really enjoyed staying in this historic home. Our only disappointments were 1) the twin bed bedroom was too cold to use & we were unable to adjust the heat in that area - but I believe they have now fixed those problems 2) the theater’s surround sound didn’t work 3) the pinball machines didn’t work. But overall, our experience there was absolutely wonderful. We loved it!!

Great Place!

The Cypress Cabin is an absolute must for anyone looking for a great beach front location with a National Park Lodge feel. The property is well maintains, true to the photos and fantastic views in all directions. We were only a little disappointed that during our stay the pinball machines did not work (we had kids with us) and the steam shower didn’t function, but it did not keep us from having a great time. If these are not functional, they should be removed from the description as it is misleading. Still, we highly recommend this spot to friends and family...absolutely great place...and historic!

Cypress House Retreat

Wow! This house is unique in its own right, and the view is absolutely stunning. It was the perfect place to gather and relax. The location is perfect...so many things to do within a 15 min drive of the house.

Fantastic stay!

The Cypress Cabin is absolutely beautiful! The views are stunning and the history of the cabin is amazing. The cabin was very well taken care of and was pristine. The staff that we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. A very peaceful and serene visit. Definitely worth the trip! So happy that I saw this place on Instagram. A 20 minute drive to Flamingo Pizza was also great for lake perch!

Great spot to enjoy the views of Lake Michigan!

Staying at The Cypress Log Cabin was fantastic! The place had everything we needed and more. The views of Lake Michigan were amazing and had just a short walk down to the beach. The movie theatre room was fun after dark as well as using the large metal wood burning fire pit. The gas was out in the gas burning fire pit. Glad we could still have a fire. The beds were comfy and the kitchen well stocked. Loved all the bathrooms as well. Would love to come back next year during a warmer month to swim in the lake. Thank you DNR for renting this place to us!

Birthday of a Lifetime

Impeccable surroundings. Expansive spaces for guests. Every little necessity at hand. Come for the views, and beach walks, and history. Leave your need for wifi and streaming at home (signal here is spotty at best.) Treat this national treasure with respect and relish the once in a lifetime experience.

Wow. Stunning. Historic. Fabulous

Grateful that Simon and Kim were finishing up when we arrived because we would have had trouble turning off the A/C. Steam shower was awesome; finally figured out which handle did what on our last day - Please fix the hand held hanging by a string. Grill and fire pit worked well. Sleeps 4 adults comfortably. 2 more in the caretaker's room and 1 in the queen fold-out in the basement. Couldn't figure out the sound system. There is NO cell service.
