Wonderful stay in a historical landmark home

One of the Century of Progress homes in the 1933 World Fair, the cypress cabin has been beautifully renovated with all the modern day amenities, while preserving its old world charm. Spacious and comfortable, stunning lakeview in the sunroom, movie theater and gaming machines on the lower level, Indiana Dunes National and State parks nearby, we had a most relaxing and enjoyable vacation here.
Super easy check-in and check-out, management is very responsive.

Two Days At The Cypress Log Cabin

I meet a friend and former coworker every year to visit a national park. This year it was Indiana Dunes. We had looked in the past at timing a trip so that we could (hopefully) go on the once-a-year tours of the five Century Of Progress homes in Indiana Dunes. Last fall, I was surprised to notice that you could actually rent the Cypress Log Cabin. In addition, it was a available for two days the same week as the 2026 annual homes tour. So we went ahead and booked the house Sunday 9/20/26 through Tuesday 9/22/26 and, luckily, were also able to get tickets for the homes tour that takes place on Saturday 9/26/26. In between, we explored the park, took the South Shore Line (train) to the Obama Center, and enjoyed the food and drink the area had to offer. The house is amazing. We could have sat in the sun room all day and just relaxed watching the Lake Michigan waves crashing into the shore. Although I am retired and have never had kids there is plenty for kids to do as well. You will have everything you need at the house, a grocery store is not that far away, and there are also some restaurants only a couple miles away. This was our 17th national park trip together and staying at the Cypress Log Cabin was one of the best decisions we ever made. Thank you!

fully equipped for a great vacation

This was a one of a kind vacation experience for our extended family. The cabin came fully equipped with everything. The porch room overlooking the lake was the star of the show. Our group appreciated having four bathrooms. The grill was spotlessly clean and we made good use of it.

Beautiful home with a beautiful beach!

I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who loves nature and the water. The home is beautiful and just a short walk to your own personal beach. We were here for a girls trip for my 50th birthday and 11 of us fit perfectly. We are thinking of renting every year because it had everything you could possibly need or want! Would even be a great Friendsgiving or Christmas rental because of the views and windows.

Lovely get away

The entire area of MI was without power for a week.
We had planned this stay for several months and were disappointed it might be canceled due to power issue.
The Cypress "family" rallied to provide a generator and lamps. We camped in an amazing log home. Couldn't be happier!

WOW, fabulous

Walk down the steps to the beach. Multiple fabulous rooms to socialize. There are 3 bedrooms. There is enough room to sleep for 10, not including the basement.Absolutely gorgeous home.

Lovely property with a great view

WE rented it for our family to get together for our 50th anniversary. Children and grandchildren all enjoyed the house and he beach. Great location!
